Dunlop Junior Production Touring Car (JPTC)

The Dunlop Production Touring Car Trophy continues to enhance its reputation as a respected Championship capable of attracting healthy grids with an exciting calendar which will help the Championship grow in stature. For the second half of 2011, the championship will be joined by the iconic Abarth 500 Assetto Corse.

The Championship forms part of the BARC Dunlop Package and the JPTC (Junior Production Touring Car) Class will visit Rockingham Speedway, the new Donington Park circuit to support the World Touring Car Championship, Brands Hatch and Croft, before teaming up with the rest of Europe in October for the final 2 races in Monza.

The televised Championship continues to receive significant support from Dunlop who offer excellent service and full technical support at all UK rounds.

Many competitors have aspirations of competing within the British Touring Car Championship and see Production Touring Cars as a way to achieve this ambition. As a result of this aim, the PTC mirrors many aspects of the BTCC in its event format which features 3 races per weekend at the UK circuits.

The specification for the cars mirrors the European Trofeo Abarth 500 Championship regulations, with the exception of the use of Dunlop slicks and Sunoco fuel. The BARC provide permanent scrutineers to the Championship ensuring a "level playing field." The Championship also utilises the services of a data acquisition specialist to examine vehicle performance.
