Abarth Grande Punto
Compact, tough, and dynamic with a real sting in the tail, the new Abarth Grande Punto is guaranteed to provide driving pleasure with highly developed suspension and braking systems, a smooth six-speed gearbox and all capable of 0-62mph in just 8.2 seconds. And it is all safe too, thanks to standard ESP and six airbags.
Visually instantly recognisable, the wider track, big alloy wheels, lower and stiffer suspension and aggressive front and rear bumpers combined with spoiler and sideskirts ensure the Grande Punto Abarth will not go unnoticed.
However, most of the Abarth treatment relates to the engine, brakes and chassis set up. The 4-cylinder 16v engine delivers 155 bhp at 5500 rpm with a maximum torque of 206 Nm at 5000 rpm. When "power boost" mode is activated, the maximum torque increases to 230 Nm at 3000 rpm, and the electric power-assisted steering gives a sportier feel. There are disc brakes on all wheels, and the front brakes are ventilated with big Brembo four-pot calipers.
The suspension is based on the tried and tested set up of the Fiat Grande Punto but with a thicker front anti-roll bar, 20% firmer springs, and a ride height lowered by 10 mm.
Inside the car the Abarth style continues, with a "carbon effect" central console, an instrument panel with a sporty design, steering wheel and gearknob covered in black leather with red stitching and finally sporty black bucket seats with built in head restraints and excellent lateral support.

Tuning Kits
The Assetto and esseesse kits, which are delivered to customers packed in original wooden crates - in keeping with Abarth tradition -
may only be sold and installed by the official network of Abarth Assetto Corse tuners on a Grande Punto Abarth 1.4 Turbo T-Jet 155 bhp.
This conversion must take place within one year or 20,000 km (12,000 miles) from its first registration. Conversions are covered by a
two-year Abarth warranty from the installation date.
Assetto Kit
As a first step up from the standard Grande Punto Abarth, a handling (Assetto) kit is offered, which includes springs that lower the ride height by 15-20mm, high-performance front brake pads, cross-drilled front disc brakes and 18" alloy wheels in white or titanium with 215/40 ZR18 Pirelli P-zero tyres.
Esseesse Kit
The esseesse kit includes substantial engine modifications that increase power output to 180 bhp (at 5750 rpm) with a maximum torque of 272 Nm (200 lb ft) at 2750 rpm. The result is a 133 mph maximum speed while accelerating from 0-62 mph takes just 7.5 seconds. The esseesse kit also includes the braking and handling modifications from the Assetto kit. The full esseesse kit includes: Garrett GT 1446 turbocharger which increases boost pressure from 1.3 to 1.5 bar, new water and oil pipes to the turbo, new exhaust manifold, heat shield, complete injector rail, MAP sensor, boost sensor, modified catalytic converter, larger diameter exhaust, new intercooler pipework, adapted radiator pipe, new water pump, wastegate valve, BMC air filter, new engine ECU, plus the contents of the Assetto kit.
