Abarth Grande Punto S2000

Grande Punto Abarth S2000

A competition car designed for racing teams, the Abarth Grande Punto S2000 is powered by a 2000 cc 270 hp naturally aspirated power unit coupled to a four-wheel-drive transmission.

The S2000 won the 2007 Italian Rally Championship with driver Giandomenico Basso and navigator Mitia Dotta, while the same car put in strong performances in the IRC (Intercontinental Rally Challenge) driven by Anton Alen, Andrea Navarra and Umberto Scandola.

The new Grande Punto Abarth S2000 is the heir to the version that took the 2006 Italian Rally Championship title with Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi, winning 7 of the 11 races on the programme, while team-mates Andrea Navarra and Guido D'Amore took third place.

For 2008, Team Abarth will enrol two Grande Punto Abarth S2000 official cars for the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, which consists of ten races in Europe, Africa and Asia.
